I want you to be thrilled with your new painting, and for the shipping process to be seamless and safe. Here are answers to commonly asked questions regarding my Shipping and Return Policies:
Shipping:
Where do you ship?
We ship products to the shipping address provided during the checkout process. It is your responsibility to ensure the accuracy and completeness of your shipping information.
My paintings can be shipped to most countries. In some instances, you will not see your country listed during checkout. In this case, contact me and we will discuss shipping options for your particular situation.
How do you pack my painting?
Small and Medium artwork: Once you have bought your painting, I take utmost care in order to protect your painting during shipment. When possible, I use sustainable materials sourced from recycled products, but the safety of the painting is primary. The face of the painting will be protected by acid-free glassine paper. The painting will be wrapped, with special attention to corners, in protective padding. Extra padding will be provided as needed depending on the size of the box, to minimize movement. The final layer of protection is the cardboard box itself.
Larger artwork: If one or more sides of the painting exceeds 36 inches (90 cm), then I deem it to be “large artwork.” I usually remove these larger canvases from the stretch bars, and roll the canvas, along with the stretcher bars, to ship in a tube. When you receive the painting, you would take it to a local framer shop to have the painting restretched professionally. This usually costs substantially less than shipping a large stretched painting. However, if you do not wish your canvas to be rolled, please contact me and I will give you shipping quotes, so you can decide which option you prefer and we can make final arrangements.
Do you offer local pick up or delivery?
Yes! Local pick up is always available, please contact me to make arrangements. Local delivery, especially for larger works, and within San Diego County, may also be possible on a case by case basis. Please contact me to inquire about arrangements for these services.
How long does shipping and delivery take?
I will pack and ship your original painting within 7 days of purchase.
Shipping in the United States:
For shipping within the United States, I use reputable shipping companies of my choosing such as UPS, USPS, or Fedex, etc. and deliveries are usually made within 3 to 7 days of shipping.
Thus, most artwork shipped to the United States should arrive within 10-14 days of your purchase payment. I will provide you with a tracking number once I have shipped your painting so you will have a more accurate idea of its arrival date. If you need priority shipping or accelerated service, please email me and we will see if it is possible to accommodate your timeline.
Once I have handed your painting to the shipping company, I cannot guarantee shipping time due to factors beyond my control. Delivery times may vary based on your location and other factors beyond our control. While we make every effort to deliver products within the estimated time frame, we are not liable for delays or damages resulting from shipping carriers or caused by other issues arising that are beyond our control.
International Shipping:
For shipments outside of the United States, I likewise will ship your new painting within 7 days of purchase.
International shipping can take substantially longer to arrive than shipping domestically, depending on your location.
Shipments to places outside of the U.S may be subject to import duties and additional taxes, according to the laws of the destination country. Any additional charges are at your expense. We have no control over these charges and accept no responsibility for additional charges.
Some shipping rates and times need to be calculated on an individual basis, depending on the country where you live. If you live in a country that cannot be accessed by the pulldown country menu, please contact me in person at hellolaure@laurepainting.com and we will do our best to make shipping available to you.
VAT, tariffs, and taxes fluctuate and can change at a moment’s notice, but we will do our best to make shipping possible whenever we are able.
Again, international customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees imposed by their respective countries. I have no control over these charges and am unable to estimate them. These charges are your responsibility and will be billed by the delivery company or customs before you are able to take possession of your art. For an estimation of these fees, please contact the customs office in your home country.
We are not responsible for delays at customs.
What are your shipping rates?
Shipping prices are subject to change without advance notice.
For now, as of July 14, 2025, my shipping rates are as follows:
Domestic Shipping:
Domestic shipping of small and medium paintings within the United States is free.
To obtain a quote for larger paintings, please contact me.
Please inspect your painting carefully when it arrives. If you notice something is wrong, take photos and email me as quickly as possible (preferably the same day, but no later than three days after delivered) to let me know what happened, and see “Returns” below.
International Shipping:
For flat-rate shipping for small and medium-sized artwork (under 36 inches or 90 cm on its longest side) to a residential address overseas, and listed in the pull-down menu during check out (Continental Europe, Canada, the United Kingdom, and others), the cost will be $60.00.
Please contact me for a shipping quote for countries not listed in the pull-down menu, and for larger artworks.
Please note that orders shipped to countries outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs tariffs, and or additional fees levied by the destination country or the shipping company. These charges are your responsibility and will be billed by the delivery company for you to pay in order to take possession of your package.
I have no control over these charges and am unable to estimate them. Tarriffs, taxes, surcharges or other fees are not included in the price calculation at the time of your order. For an estimate of these fees, which vary by destination, contact the customs agency in your country.
Returns
Do you accept returns?
I want you to be completely happy and delighted with your new original artwork. With that in view, I offer a return agreement.
How accurate are your photos?
While I have taken every care to describe the size of the paintings and show my artwork as accurately as possible, online images can and do vary depending on browsers, devices, and screen settings. Please be aware of the possibility of variations when making your decisions as I cannot guarantee accuracy. If you are not satisfied with your painting once it arrives, please see the process and timeline for refunds below.
What is the process and timeline for Refunds?
If a painting is not as you expected, you have 7 days to contact me by email and request a refund at hellolaure@laurepainting.com.
Once a return has been agreed, you are responsible for safely packing and arranging return delivery using the same service I used to send you the package. If this is not possible, we will agree to the reputable service you use when we make the return agreement. You must insure the painting for its full value with the shipper. You must mail the painting within 7 days of our return agreement. Payment for insured return shipping using the service on which we have agreed is your responsibility.
Once the piece has been safely returned in its original condition, according to the above guidelines, I will refund your payment within 14 days of receiving the painting. You will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been processed. Please be aware that it make take a few weeks for your bank or the credit company to finalize the refund. This is beyond my control.
What if my painting was damaged in transit?
I make every effort to carefully prepare your painting for shipment, which means extra care is given to each painting for it to be carefully and safely packed in a way that it will arrive to you undamaged.
In the rare instance that you do receive a work that has been damaged in transit, it is very important to immediately take photos of the box and the painting, so I can see the extent and details of the damage in question.
Contact me as quickly as possible, and no longer than 3 days from receipt of the damaged package, to let me know what happened and give me details of the damage. Please attach the photos to your email to help me assess next steps.
Damage incidents are rare, but unfortunately can happen. Resolution of these types of incidents will be considered on a case by case basis. We will do everything we can to resolve this in a way that is mutually acceptable and find a way to get a painting you love into your home.
